Anatolian Shepherds - Dogs - Feeding and Grooming
Anatolian Shepherd dogs don't require a lot of food for their size, but puppies and adolescents eat much to gain weight. A healthy adult eats about 40 pounds of premium quality dry chow per month. As with any double-coated breed, Anatolian Shepherds shed daily; heavy seasonal blowing of coat should be considered. Regular grooming and brushing will minimize the problem.

- Eyes of different colors or blue;

Anatolian Shepherds - Dogs - Appearance
Anatolian Shepherd dogs are large but not fat, rugged, and impressive, with a well-muscled torso and strong legs. Both dog and beach should be rectangular, in direct proportion to height. The neck of Anatolians is slightly arched with more skin and fur than elsewhere on the body, forming a protective ruff. Topline appears level when gaiting. Chest is deep, reaching the elbows. Tail is long and set high, it's carried low with the curled end; when alert, the tail is carried high.
Eyes of the Anatolian Shepherd are almond shaped and dark brown to light amber in color; ears are V-shaped, measuring to 6 inches in length, and dropped to sides. Nose must be black or dark brown. Teeth and gums are strong and healthy, scissors bite is preferred, level bite is acceptable. Expression of the muzzle should be intelligent. The coat can be 1-4 inches in length with a thick undercoat, but it should be longer and thicker at the neck and mane. All color patterns and markings are acceptable with Anatolian Shepherd dogs.
