First and foremost, this is a guarding breed. Large and noble dogs, they are characterized by large heads and thick muscular necks. Not very massive, these dogs are tall and powerful. They tend to be protective of their family and suspicious of anything or anyone threatening their people or the property they guard. An anatolian shepard will rarely be found among photos of available rescue dogs.
